I began my equine journey very young. My first memory, was before I could walk. I was exposed to my father’s x-thoroughbred, and felt electrified! I received my first pony when I was six. That Christmas was my best ever. That pony taught me so much. He was a typical Shetland, all attitude, and none was very nice. I began training for others, and troubleshooting equine problems when I was twelve. I could ride any horse, when nobody else could. I bred my own horse to my farrier’s stallion when I was sixteen. The resulting colt was my first foal that I raised and trained.
I have ridden in Europe. I entered a competition in France when I was sixteen, and won. Riding three different horses, over a series of jumps. I have been fortunate to have had excellent schooling in my jumping. I had a wonderful mentor, who taught me so many wonderful things, as well as how to read the horse’s body language.
I have since, raised and trained almost every breed of horses. I have breezed Thoroughbreds, ridden draft horses, as well as ponies.
My latest challenge is a wild mustang. He came from Nevada. He is part of a group of mustangs that was bred by the famous Dann Sisters. This blog will follow us through whatever challenges we may face, as well as our triumphs !
