How to adopt at Windwalker Sanctuary
All of our adoptable animals have completed any/all recovery to the point where we at Windwalker believe they are ready to go to their forever home.
As is evident, some of our residents are “companions only” due to injuries, or physical limitations.
Due to neglect and/or abuse some of our horses are very particular about the homes they will go to. Each prospective parent should visit Windwalker Sanctuary to interact with their potential FUR baby.
We recommend at least three visits to allow the adopter and the adoptee to “bond”. To get to know each other, to just interact with each other.
A facility inspection of the adoptive parent’s home will also be completed, as well as other processes to ensure the safety and emotional well being of the adopted equine/canine.
